X-Com, Inc., founded by David Erisman, is a technology-based corporation
with operations in Warrensburg, MO, and Manassas, VA. The company
was established in 1994 to design, develop and manufacture technical
electronic digital communications hardware and software for the Navy
and other commercial applications and products.
 David
and some of his technical staff approached the SBDC in Warrensburg
for technical assistance in testing various wireless technology devices.
At that time, David had a successful operation in Virginia but wanted
to expand his product scope and locate a facility in Warrensburg.
David is a busy entrepreneur. Since he first consulted with the SBDC,
his company has participated in the 2000 Technology Based Conference
at the CMSU Lee's Summit Facility; obtained additional government
contracts of $9.9 million, through new product introduction and the
Ike Skelton Procurement Conference; developed, tested and introduced
a number of new products, based on the company's initial core technologies;
and opened a new facility in Warrensburg.
Over the four-year period of association with the SBDC, X-Com staff
have worked with several SBDC staff at Central Missouri State University,
including Wes Savage, Darrell Brammer, Mark Manley, Don Davis, Brad
Snyder, Bill McKnight and many others.
 Through
its rapid and well-managed growth, X-Com has developed markets in
Korea, Germany, Europe and Australia.
"Our relationship with the SBDC gave us access to key Navy procurement
specialists during the recent Ike Skelton Procurement Conference and
allowed us to showcase some of our AEGIS communications equipment
to a large audience," David says.
